Fundacion Amistad is a non-profit organization established in Heredia, Costa Rica in 2008. Fundacion Amistad is committed to implementing and developing programs in the areas of education, community support, environment, health and culture, development and empowerment of people, and prevention of sexual exploitation of minors.

Our website allows people like you to choose a program in which you feel a connection to and donate directly to it.  Whether it is education, health, or the environment, it is your decision about where your money goes, thus empowering you as a donor.  Being a transparent non-profit organization is one of our main priorities.  We want you to see the changes you’ve helped to make and the progress the people of Costa Rica are able to make with your help.

Fundacion Amistad is about creating and implementing sustainable change.  With the combination of goodwill, hard work, and the human spirit, together, we can create a tomorrow that is better for everyone.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to develop and implement the necessary tools so that people in rural, semi-rural, and at-risk communities are capable of taking charge of their own destinies.  We are devoted to helping people realize positive steps and solve problems in their lives, along with those of the environment.  We are committed to the teaching of skills, information, and values that will create the foundation for a better life for those in need, rather than using “Band-Aid” solutions.

Our Vision:
We are committed to bettering the lives of people and communities in Costa Rica by implementing programs, which use people’s strengths, efforts, and skills as a platform for change and progress.  We are also devoted to participating in activities in which we help to solve problems related to the environment.  Our vision is for a better tomorrow, for the creation of a strong foundation in which today’s opportunities can become realized positive changes in our community.

Our Objectives:

• Collaborate for the improvement of social, natural, educational, and cultural conditions of rural, semi-rural, and socially-at-risk communities.
• Encourage the social and economic leadership of different groups of this community, especially of our community, Barrio Jesus.
• Work actively and from all possible angles to oppose the sexual exploitation of minors
• Promote the formation of necessary human resources for development projects.
• Participate actively in the conservation and the betterment of natural resources, wildlife, and atmosphere.
• Support environmental sanitation programs and health in general.
• Support individual volunteers or groups that are willing to offer their help in some or all of the areas in which the foundation works in.
